¡@ ¡@ The way I see it, China will become the world's most powerful country in the twenty-first century. ¡@ ¡@ If China were to be constructed as the most powerful country, the previous five problems must be properly dealt with. ¡@ ¡@ May we ask: If, within the next fifty years, there were to be battles waging in the Taiwan Strait, could China still become the most powerful country? ¡@ ¡@ If battles were waged by sea crossing and landing, China's national economy could well be backtracked by fifty years. Whoever initiated the wicked practice would be universally condemned and history will renounce him in severe terms. ¡@ ¡@ I believe mainland China would not wage war against Taiwan by crossing the strait. ¡@ ¡@ Jiang Ze-min, being sensible and wise, would not make such a choice. ¡@ ¡@ Jiang Ze-min would not risk anything that Mao Ze-dong , Deng Xiao-ping did not attempt. He knows well that the strait needs peace. The people of China need peace. ¡@ ¡@ The amicable smile on the face of Jiang Ze-min on his last visit to the United States was very memorable. ¡@ ¡@ I do believe the ordering of military exercises by Jiang Ze-min, and his non-commitment to forgo liberating Taiwan by force were "balancing" tactics to handle those hawk "leftist warriors" in the army and the "left lords" in the political hierarchy. ¡@ ¡@ This is his "art" of leadership when his role is the "core". ¡@ ¡@ Hence, history offers a good opportunity to Jiang Ze-min. ¡@ ¡@ Jiang Ze-min needs to gain on time. |
